What to bring to your bridal appointment
By Cloe Pan, Stylist ·
Bring a nude, seamless strapless bra or bodysuit, shoes close to the height you'll wear, a few inspiration photos, your wedding date and budget, and two or three people whose opinion you trust. Arrive with light makeup and your hair as you'd normally wear it, and plan for about an hour — the default length of a private fitting at Lichée Bridal.
Your checklist
- Undergarments — a nude, seamless strapless bra or bodysuit, or whatever you plan to wear on the day.
- Shoes — heels close to your wedding height, so the hem looks right.
- Inspiration — five to ten photos of dresses you love (and any you don't).
- Your wedding date, venue and season — they shape which dresses make sense.
- Your budget, including whether renting is an option.
- Accessories you already own — a veil, heirloom jewelry or a hair piece.
Who to bring
Two or three people is ideal (Lichée Bridal welcomes up to four guests). A big group means a lot of opinions and less time looking at the dress. Bring the people who know your style and will be honest — and remember the final call is yours.
What to expect
Your stylist will ask about your wedding and what you've imagined, then pull a few gowns in different silhouettes. Expect to try five to eight dresses. Gowns are usually samples, so they're clipped to show how they'll fit after alterations. In a private studio you'll have the room and the stylist to yourself, which makes it easier to take your time.
After you choose
Once you've found the dress, you'll reserve or order it and book your alteration fittings. For each fitting, bring the same shoes and undergarments so the hem and fit are set once, correctly.
